Hey all of you Pro Football maniacs!
The biggest game of the NFL season is almost here.
Super Bowl 51 will be played this Sunday, Feb 5 and is scheduled to start at 6:30. The game this year will be held at NRG Stadium in Houston Texas. The New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons are the two teams going to battle and striving to become the NFL champion for 2016.
The Falcons became the first team to make it into Super Bowl LI by defeating the Green Bay Packers, 44-21, in the NFC Championship Game. It’s only the second time in the history of the franchise to make it to the Super Bowl. They have yet to win the title after a loss in Super Bowl XXXIII to the Broncos, 34-19.

The New England Patriots, with Tom Brady at the wheel, rolled over the Pittsburgh Steelers, 36-17, in the AFC Championship Game to make their record ninth Super Bowl appearance. The Patriots are 4-4 all-time in Super Bowls, with their latest championship coming just two years ago in Super Bowl XLIX. They narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24, to take the title.
I see this as an uphill battle for Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. The current odds at Bovada Sportsbook seem to agree and show that most of the action has been on the Patriots. They were 16-2 SU, 15-3 ATS for the season and are currently 3 point favorites for Sundays game.
The Falcons were 13-5 SU, 12-6 ATS and with Matt Ryan running the show their offense was the best in the league. This makes it look like a much closer game on paper.
The total is also holding steady at 59.5 points – a new Super Bowl record.

The half time show over the years has been marred with controversy and it is always a huge production. For those of you interested in that, Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform.

You tell yourself the Pro Bowl doesn’t matter. The game has no real implications, it is however, definitely worth watching because of the NFL star power. The game was played at Camping World Stadium on Sunday.
The NFL finally got away from the fantasy draft. It has finally gone back to the AFC vs. NFC, thank you for that. With no fantasy draft this year, the NFL decided to go with a skills competition that was fairly enjoyable. This was definitely something they can build on. The Pro Bowl rosters are stacked with talent, obviously, with players from each division that are a must see.
We can all agree that the Pro Bowl is better than no football at all. That would be the worst weekend of all.

The Conference Championship round should have been one of the greatest in NFL history. Taking into consideration that the games were featuring four of the NFL’s most elite quarterbacks. However it turned out to be rather disappointing weekend of football.
Neither game was very competitive and both game were decided by 19 of more points.
It was another MVP performance from Matt Ryan. He led the Falcons to victory, throwing for 392 yards with four touchdowns and added a fifth on a 14-yard run to the end zone. Ryan will be making his first trip to the Super Bowl.
Atlanta led the entire game, scoring on their first seven of eight drives, leading 24-0 at the half and put up 31 points before the Packers finally managed to score. The Green Bay defense had no answers for the Falcons
The New England Patriots are heading to Super Bowl for the second time in three years, after rolling over the Steelers, 36-17, in Sunday’s AFC Championship game. New England is now 9-4 in AFC Championships and holds a 6-1 record when playing at home.
Brady is having one of the best seasons of his career, he has gone from being suspended, to playing in the Super Bowl. Leading the Patriots to their ninth AFC Title, He set a franchise playoff record. The performance was Brady’s 11th postseason 300-yard game, extending his NFL record.
For the Pittsburgh Steelers, it was disappointing from the start. After losing Le’Veon Bell to a groin injury in the first quarter, the Steelers were done in by countless mistakes in all phases of the game. The Steelers never challenged the Patriots, who led Sunday’s contest for the entire game and ended the Steelers’ nine-game winning streak

Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers started off the first half a bit off target. In the second half he managed the offense like a general. He threw the pass of the postseason to set up Mason Crosby’s 51 yard game winning field goal. The kick was the longest game winner in playoff history. The Packers advance to their second NFC Championship Game in three years.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have won 9 consecutive games and advance to the Championship round. Great football teams always find a way to win. There is only one stat that needs to be mentioned about this game. Chris Boswell’s NFL postseason record 6 field goals that totaled 227 yards – the exact number that the Chiefs offense were able to generate.
The Steelers are making an NFL record 16 conference championship game appearance and Kansas City has gone 23 years without a playoff win at home.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are headed toward their 6th straight conference championship game. The have appeared in an astounding 11 out the the last 16 years.

The Wildcard Weekend games did not disappoint, that is unless you like close nail biting football games. Every home team came away a winner and it was the most lopsided since 1981.
In Houston the Texans defeated the Oakland Raiders 27-14 in the AFC Wild Card game to advance to the Divisional round.
Oakland’s surprise move to play Conner Cook resulted in the Raiders generating the second fewest yards in the franchise playoff history.

The Pittsburgh Steelers record setting 35th playoff win was highlighted impressive outings by Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. Brown went for 124 years and two touchdowns, and Bell ran for a franchise record 167 yards and two scores.
Seattle won in typical Seahawks playoff style, it contained wildly unexpected plays and performances. Paul Richardson, who came into the game with 21 catches for 288 yards, caught three balls for 48 yards and perhaps the best touchdown grab we’ve seen all season.
