The Steelers lose a practice squad defender but add two.

The Steelers continued to make roster moves this week, with the team announcing two practice squad signings on Wednesday: outside linebacker Ade Ogundeji and linebacker Craig Young.

Ogundeji was originally signed to the Steelers’ practice squad back in August and was promoted to the 53-man roster ahead of the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the Steelers regained some health at outside linebacker with Alex Highsmith practicing on Wednesday, sending Ogundeji back to the practice squad.

Craig Young worked out for the Steelers earlier in October. Here’s what we wrote about him then:

Young signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a UDFA in 2024. In his final year at Kansas, the 6’3, 225-pound defender recorded 29 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He’s yet to play in an NFL game.

Young was a safety in college before transferring to linebacker at the NFL level.

The Steelers had room to add Young with the Carolina Panthers recently poaching inside linebacker Jacoby Windmon off the team’s practice squad. Pittsburgh now has 17 on the practice squad.
