The Steelers’ quarterback had a tremendous showing vs. the Jets

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has come to life in recent weeks. Most recently, they scored their most points since the end of the Ben Roethlisberger era, putting up 37 against the New York Jets in a 22-point win in Week 7. And while the offense took off, it was after a slow start that could have gone sideways.

The Steelers scored a field goal on their first drive, which was followed up by three straight three-and-outs. However, Pittsburgh got in synch, which led to them scoring on each of their second-half drives and blowing out the New York Jets.

Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith gave a lot of credit to quarterback Russell Wilson for not losing his cool during the slow start, saying there ‘was no panic’ in Wilson.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns in his first start. Should he continue playing this well, Pittsburgh will be 6-2 heading into their bye week and in firm position to make the playoffs, and perhaps win the AFC North.
