The Steelers’ kicker wasn’t needed for a field goal in the win.

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Washington Commanders in dramatic fashion, overcoming a 10-point deficit in the second half and winning 28-27 to get to 7-2 on the year ahead of their first divisional matchup of the season with the Baltimore Ravens.

One thing that stood out in the win was the lack of Chris Boswell. The Steelers didn’t call on their star kicker once for a field goal, which is almost unheard of with this team. The last time the Steelers won a game without kicking a field goal was in Week 16 of the 2020 season when they defeated the Indianapolis Colts 28-24.

Boswell appeared on Ben Roethlisberger’s podcast Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger and said it didn’t matter how they win as long as they won.

“My brother sent me a text saying it’s the first time in 60 games that I have not attempted a field goal,” Boswell said.

Roethlisberger asked how that made Boswell feel.

“It was a nice day,” Boswell said. “We won… I honestly don’t care. I’ll take four PATs and a win.”

So will the rest of the Steelers.
