Fans and media alike are getting fed up with the Steelers’ lack of care
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been mediocre for the better part of a decade. They haven’t won a playoff game since Barack Obama was still president, and they’ve been routinely blown out in every playoff game they’ve appeared in since 2016.
Fans have been clamoring for change for quite sometime, but those voices have grown louder over the last two years. And after another blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the wild card round, calls for Mike Tomlin to be traded or fired became louder than ever before. So much so that Kevin Adams, host of the Barstool Sports podcast “Steel Here” paid for a billboard to be put up in Pittsburgh telling team president Art Rooney II to either sell the team or move on from Tomlin.
“The standard is mediocrity,” the billboard reads. “Trade Tomlin or sell the team, Rooney! We’ve had enough.”
The Steelers enter another offseason without a starting quarterback under contract, making it very difficult to believe that 2025 will be any different than any of the previous handful of seasons that ended the exact same way. Fans are angry, and have every right to be. Especially after almost zero changes have been made to the coaching staff, and Pittsburgh will be running back largely the same roster and coaching staff this coming season.
