The Steelers’ safety wants no part of Rodgers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have question marks at quarterback for the second consecutive season. At the time of writing, Skylar Thompson is the only quarterback under contract. And while Pittsburgh could bring back Justin Fields, they could also look in a different direction. One other quarterback that some have connected to Pittsburgh is Aaron Rodgers.
The four-time MVP has been informed by the New York Jets that he won’t be part of their plans going forward and will need to find a new team should he want to continue playing. The Pittsburgh Steelers have the best odds to land Rodgers, but safety DeShon Elliott has made it clear he doesn’t want the former Packer under center in Pittsburgh in a comment on an Instagram post discussing the potential of Rodgers joining the Steelers.
“Leave his ass at the retirement home,” Elliott said.
So we know how at least one member of the Steelers feels. Will that opinion be popular in the locker room and keep Rodgers away from Pittsburgh?
