The Pittsburgh Steelers quietly dropped new 2026 NFL Draft merchandise on the team’s Pro Shop website earlier this week. With the big event headed to the Steel City in 2026, the listing took some by surprise as the Pittsburgh paraphernalia releases ahead of April’s NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
While you can consume many mock drafts and predictions for what the Steelers will do in 2025, NFL news today suggests that the team could have as many as four additional compensatory picks in tow while hosting next year’s event. This is due to several key free agents signing with other teams this offseason, including OT Dan Moore Jr., RB Najee Harris, CB Donte Jackson, and G James Daniels.
While we’re awaiting the Steelers to reload their roster this season, fans can get a jump on next year’s showcase by purchasing draft gear now. As with any major sporting event, the merchandise can range from necessary to ridiculous. We’re here to help you navigate the 23 items listed thus far and make the best picks for those you should jump on buying now rather than waiting later.
Terrible Towel
No Pittsburgh Steelers-themed event would be complete without a Terrible Towel, and the 2026 NFL Draft is no different. Inspired by Myron Cope’s original, official design, the draft edition towel is emblazoned with both the Steelers and dated event logos.
If past experiences are any indication, the towel is sure to become a collector’s item. The Pro Football Hall of Fame issued various special edition towels during the enshrining of Steelers players over the years. The visual of RB Jerome Bettis’ induction will forever be remembered for the hundreds, if not thousands, of Terrible Towels twirling during his speech.
There’s no doubt that the draft, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, will also see Myron Cope’s invention be the most prominent one seen throughout the three days of the event.
Drawstring Bag
Depending on the security guidelines of the event, this bag could be a necessary item to traverse the sprawling land-locked areas of Pittsburgh during the draft – or it could be a novelty item that gets no use.
Keep in mind that Acrisure Stadium guidelines prohibit anything other than their clear bag policy, which affects the type and size of bags that are permitted into the stadium. According to stadium policies, bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are the only ones permitted. Keep this in mind, as the league and event organizers may implement similar protocols with larger crowds.
Knit Hat
Do you know what the weather will be like in Pittsburgh during a random weekday in April? Yeah, neither do we!
That’s why a knitted hat may be an essential item to consider for the draft, which will be hosted in large, open areas outdoors. According to Weather Underground, April 2023’s maximum high temperature hit 83 degrees in Pittsburgh, but dipped to a cool 43 degrees minimum.
Since the first two days of the NFL Draft are both primetime events, it would be wise to prepare for cooler weather as the sun sets in the evening.
Draft Hat
The official hat that incoming rookies are issued has yet to be released, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get one with the NFL Draft’s 2026 Pittsburgh logo today.
’47 Brand offers two varieties of “Clean Up Draft” hats, in black and white. The simple adjustable design is a one-size-fits-all style that’s certain to keep your noggin from frying when the sun comes out for the Saturday afternoon conclusion of the draft!
