The Steelers are rewarding their GM with a new contract
The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that they are signing general manager Omar Khan to a three-year extension that will keep him with the team through the 2028 season.
“I am excited to announce we have signed Omar to a new three-year contract,” Team President Art Rooney II said in a statement. “Omar and his team have done a great job over the past three years in constructing our roster through the NFL Draft, strategic trades, and free agency. We look forward to continuing that trend that will lead to even more success on the field.”
Khan also released a statement, saying he believes the Steelers are building a championship roster.
“I would like to thank Art Rooney II for his support,” Khan said. “I believe we are building a championship roster and look forward to the 2025 season and beyond as our goals continue to be to bring another Super Bowl to the City of Pittsburgh and our great fans.”

Khan took over as general manager following the 2022 NFL Draft for Kevin Colbert, and has been as active as any general manager in the NFL over the last two offseasons. In that span, the Steelers traded the likes of Diontae Johnson, Kenny Pickett, and George Pickens while making respective moves to acquire/sign Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, DK Metcalf, and Aaron Rodgers.
Khan is entering his 25th year in total with the Steelers.
