For the second week in a row, it is the Steelers in primetime at home against a New York club. Here in Week 8, it will be the New York Giants trying to spoil the party on Monday Night Football.
The Steelers now sit at 5-2 and have back-to-back 30-plus point performances. The story for the Giants could not be more different as they enter this contest at 2-5. The G-men put up a pitiful three points last week against Philadelphia and will undoubtedly bring revenge energy to Pittsburgh.
With that being said, here are a few of our favorite Giants-Steelers player prop bets to consider for Week 8 Monday Night Football.
Najee Harris anytime touchdown scorer (+105)
After not scoring a single touchdown through the first five weeks, Najee Harris has finally found what works for him in this Steeler offense. Harris now has back-to-back weeks with a touchdown and looks to make it three in a row against a struggling Giants defense.
The Giants have been pitiful against the run, giving up 138.1 yards per game this season. Not to mention, in their last three games, they have allowed an average of 164 per game. Such statistics place them 25th in the NFL in rush defense. With how hot Harris has been and how bad the Giants rush defense is, expect a big day for him, which could very well include a touchdown.
Pat Freiermuth OVER 27.5 receiving yards (-114)
For Pat Freiermuth, this receiving yards line seems somewhat free. Freiermuth has failed to hit this over in just three games this season, with one missing by 0.5 yards.
With Russell Wilson’s insertion into the lineup last week, Freiermuth went for 51 yards on just two catches. We all know how much Wilson likes his tight ends as well. In saying this, you have to expect more production from Freiermuth as he and Wilson aim to build a connection.
Devin Singletary UNDER 34.5 rushing yards (-114)
Yes, 34 yards may not seem like a lot for a running back, but hear me out. Devin Singletary returned from injury last week against the Eagles where he had just five rushing attempts for 18 yards. Whether or not something is still lingering there, there is even more evidence as to why you might want to add this to your bet slip.
In Singletary’s absence, backup Tyrone Tracy Jr. stepped in and played lights out. In his two starts, the rookie went for 179 yards and a touchdown on 35 attempts. With a stat line like this, you have to expect the Giants will rely on him more in games moving forward. If that is the case, Singletary’s attempts, along with his overall rush yards, will decrease.
