The Steelers’ new wide receiver ranked in top 25 of NFL wide receivers
The Pittsburgh Steelers made one of the moves of the offseason when they traded a second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver DK Metcalf. The star deep-ball threat will be the Steelers’ unquestioned No. 1 target in 2024 after Pittsburgh traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys earlier this month.
PFF recently released their rankings of the Top 32 wide receivers in the NFL, and Metcalf was ranked No. 23.
“Metcalf didn’t have his best season in 2024 and finished with a 75.0 receiving grade, but he’s been remarkably consistent throughout his career, never posting a grade below 73.0,” Trevor Sikkema writes. “Since 2019, he’s recorded 89 contested catches, and now he’ll look to reset with a fresh start in Pittsburgh.”
Metcalf was sandwiched between No. 22 Ladd McConkey and No. 24 Chris Olave. For those wondering, George Pickens didn’t make the list.
The Steelers will need Metcalf to play up to the level of his ranking, and potentially above it if they don’t make any other major move at the position this offseason.
