The Steelers’ head coach is not worried.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into a massive AFC North matchup against the 7-3 Baltimore Ravens with first place in the division on the line. The Ravens’ offense has been one of the best in the league this season, and they added to their skill position players at the trade deadline by acquiring former Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson. Mike Tomlin was asked about facing his former player in his weekly press conference, to which he showed no concern.
“He’s not on a lot of their video,” Tomlin said. “They have more significant pieces with larger roles to worry about at this point in the week.”
Johnson has played in two games with the Ravens, and has just one catch for six yards on two targets. He’s played just 22 snaps across the two games since being traded to Baltimore, so Tomlin’s claim of Johnson not appearing on film a lot for Baltimore wasn’t so much of a slight as much as it was factual.
The Steelers traded Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in March in exchange for cornerback Donte Jackson and a sixth-round pick.
