Unsurprisingly, the Steelers are overwhelmingly predicted to make the playoffs this season.

The Steelers’ 18-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday officially announced the black and gold as contenders in a wide-open AFC.

Pittsburgh shut down a Baltimore team with the NFL’s top-ranked offense and a 7-3 record entering Week 11. With the win, Pittsburgh improved to 8-2 on the year, maintaining sole possession of first place in the AFC North and third place in the conference.

But Pittsburgh-Baltimore wasn’t the only heavyweight matchup on Sunday. The AFC’s second-place team, the Buffalo Bills, dealt the first-place Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of 2024. The game result didn’t shuffle the AFC standings, but it did make things more interesting; Pittsburgh is well within range of challenging for the first-place spot with a Christmas Day matchup against the Chiefs looming on the schedule.

Ahead of Monday Night Football, the AFC standings are listed below. Teams that would be in the playoffs if the season ended today are marked with an asterisk. Pittsburgh has already recorded wins over the current Nos. 5, 6, and 7 seeds this season.
