This comes in response to what Ben Roethlisberger said on Footbahlin’
Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made headlines with a somewhat controversial statement he made on the latest episode of Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben said he would take prime Aaron Rodgers over current Patrick Mahomes.
“Well, I would take Aaron in his prime over Patrick now,” Roethlisberger said. “I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it – and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just entering out of his prime, I think.”
It appears Mahomes’ trainer, Bobby Stroupe, took exception to those comments. Stroupe took to X to call out Roethlisberger.
“Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben,” Stoupe said.

This was a clear dig at Roethlisberger’s physique during the 2010s when he was known to be heavier than almost every other starting quarterback in the NFL. That didn’t slow him down, though, as he topped 5,000 yards passing in 2018 and won two passing titles (2014, 2018). Roethlisberger was also a Pro Bowler five times from 2011-17.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking to become the first team since the early 1990s Buffalo Bills to reach four straight Super Bowls, and become just the second team ever to do so.
