Another Steelers coach gets an outside interview.

Another Steelers’ coach is getting an outside interview this offseason. Per a report by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Atlanta Falcons are interviewing Steelers secondary coach Grady Brown for their defensive coordinator position.

Brown was hired by the Steelers in 2021 after serving as the defensive coordinator for McNeese State in 2020. He was signed as the University of Houston’s secondary coach in 2021, but left for the Steelers job just eight days later.

Brown has been credited in helping create the Steelers’ “turnover culture.” Since the 2022 season, Pittsburgh has consistently ranked in the upper half of the league when it comes to interceptions. The team was tied for third in that metric in 2024.

However the Steelers were the NFL’s 25th-best defense in passing yards allowed per game in 2024.

Brown is one of several defensive coordinator interviews for the Falcons this offseason. The other names who have interviewed are Steve Wilks, Jeff Ulbrich, Lou Anarumo, Derrick Ansley, and Wink Martindale.
