Live from Delaware, it’s the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round, Saturday pre-edition! I, NAS204PSU, am here to bring you this Saturday Tailgate Open Thread (aka STOT).
Well, the Steelers are done, but the NFL playoffs continue. The Chefs are hosting the Techsans, hoping to serve up another win. Meanwhile, the Lyins are trying to prove they’re not frauds by outing the Commies.

- Now that the Steelers are “forked” and done for 2024, rank each of the recent Steelers playoff loses scale of 1-5 where 1 =just happy for an extra game, 2=sucks but better team won, 3=we were bad and should feel bad, 4=shouldn’t-have-made-playoffs-awful, 5=dumpster fire
- 2016: Lost 36–17 in AFC championship to *New England
- 2017: Lost 45-42 to the Jacksonville Jaguars
- 2020: Lost 48-37 to the Cleveland Browns
- 2021: Lost 42-21 to the Kansas City Chiefs
- 2023: Lost 31-17 to the Buffalo Bills
- 2024: Lost 28-14 to the Baltimore Ravens
2. The Steelers were joined by 5 other teams now sitting at home: Vikings, Packers, Bucs, Chargers, Broncos. If you could steal 1 player and 1 coach total for any of these 1-n-done teams who would it be and why?
3. The new “Dynamic” kickoff rule was in effect all year. What’s your opinion: keep it, change it, or revert back to old rules?
4. CFP championship between Noter Lame and NO!hio state are on Monday. Which of those teams’ fans are less annoying?
5. Former Steeler Dionte Johnson was waived by the Texans after making a scene in the locker room while the team was celebrating (then he was resigned by Ravens effective after SB so it counts for 2025 compensatory picks somehow?!). DJ may never play a significant role for an NFL team again. Will GP follow DJ and AB as the next talented but guano-crazy WR that leaves the Steelers?
6. It’s freezing on Monday in many eastern states, which means furnaces will be challenged to stay running. Got any crazy/horror stories with your furnace going out in the winter?
