The Steelers land their big-time weapon
The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally landed a big-time receiver in a blockbuster trade.
Pittsburgh has acquired D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for their 2025 second-round pick, per Tom Pelissero. On top of that, the Steelers are giving Metcalf a five-year, $150 million extension to keep him in Pittsburgh for a long time.
Pittsburgh now pairs Metcalf with George Pickens to give themselves a great pairing of deep ball threats who can take the lid off any defense in the NFL. Now comes the question of who will be throwing them the ball. The Steelers still don’t have a starting quarterback under contract ahead of the new league year.
Considering Metcalf’s friendship and history with Russell Wilson in Seattle, is this a sign that Wilson is coming back for 2025? We’ll find out soon enough, but Metcalf is a Steeler and will be for quite some time.
