The Steelers’ quarterbacks have love for one another.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have found success with both of their new quarterbacks thus far in 2024. Justin Fields led the team to a 4-2 start while accounting for 10 total touchdowns to just one interception, and Russell Wilson won his first start in Week 7 with two passing touchdowns and one on the ground.

Speaking on the latest edition of Not Just Football, Cam Heyward said that despite some thinking there is a rivalry between Wilson and Fields, both quarterbacks have done nothing but support each other.

“Between Russ and Justin, they’ve always supported each other. The media and people outside the locker room have pitted these guys against each other. They’ve been very supporting of each other, and they’ve made the team the team. That’s all that’s mattered, and I’m appreciative of it. It doesn’t bring any extra drama. They just come in for business and they both come in ready to perform.”

It’s clear the Steelers are confident with both quarterbacks under center. In a perfect world, if Russell Wilson continues to play well and has one more year in him, they bring both back in 2025 and continue to have Fields wait in the wings to take the keys to the car once Wilson calls it a career. That’s long-term thinking, though. The focus for now will be winning on Monday night to get to 6-2.
