Brutal news for Pittsburgh

We’re just under 90 minutes out from kickoff of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Wild Card matchup against the Baltimore Ravens set for 8 p.m. ET, and both teams have officially announced their gameday inactives.

Here’s a look at the Steelers and Ravens inactives for Saturday evening’s Wild Card matchup.

Steelers Wild Card inactives

  • Kyle Allen (Emergency 3rd QB)
  • OL Mason McCormick (hand)
  • WR Jamal Agnew
  • CB Cory Trice Jr.
  • LB Preston Smith
  • DE Dean Lowry

The Steelers headed into this matchup as healthy as one could hope — and much, much healthier than they were for their last meeting in Week 16.

Heading into this matchup, rookie right guard Mason McCormick was the only player listed as questionable, currently dealing with a broken hand. Though he practiced in a limited fashion through the week with a heavily bandaged brace. OL Spencer Anderson will presumably start.

Notably absent from the inactives list is CB Donte Jackson, set to make his return from a nagging back injury that held him out of Weeks 16 and 18. He’ll get the start opposite Joey Porter Jr. along the perimeter once again, currently leading the team with five interceptions on the year. Second-year CB Cory Trice Jr., who made his first career start last week,

WR Scotty Miller is also inactive, having shuffled around the roster a bit this week after being released on Thursday to make room for the promotion of OL Calvin Anderson, who was activated from IR, subsequently signed back to the practice squad and then promoted back to the active roster. WR Jamal Agnew, who also

Ravens Wild Card inactives

  • WR Zay Flowers (knee)
  • FS Beau Brade
  • RB Rasheen Ali
  • S Marcus Williams
  • LB Adisa Isaac
  • C Nick Samac
  • WR Keith Kirkwood

The big news for the Ravens this week was the absence of Pro Bowl WR Zay Flowers, who’s out with a knee injury suffered in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns. Flowers leads the Ravens in receptions and receiving yards, which means the team will need some other contributions from some of their depth pieces, particularly Rashod Bateman and TE Isaiah Likely.
