The Steelers’ QB is getting his first veteran rest day
The Pittsburgh Steelers had over 13,000 people in attendance for their annual Friday Night Lights practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium. With a quick turnaround for practice Saturday, Pittsburgh is giving veteran days off to several players, including Aaron Rodgers.
Per Derrick Bell of Steelers Now, Rodgers isn’t on the field, and neither is DK Metcalf.
“Looks like a vet day for Rodgers,” Bell posted on X. “I don’t see DK either.”

Alan Saunders also points out that there are several defensive stars not seen on the practice field.
“Here’s new Steelers DT Kyler Baugh and new-old DT Breiden Fehoko,” Saunders said in a post on X showing defensive line drills. “Don’t see [Cam] Heyward, [Keeanu] Benton or [T.J.] Watt out here.”

It appears Saturday is being used as the first day off for a lot of the Steelers’ vets. They have practiced every day except this past Monday. Pittsburgh’s first pre-season game will take place a week from today in Jacksonville against the Jaguars.
