A potential Justin Fields vs. Aaron Rodgers duel revenge game is reportedly set
The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to play the New York Jets in their opening contest of the season in Week 1.
Pittsburgh had a combination of “revenge games” to start the season in 2024, playing the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith was fired by Atlanta at the end of the 2023 season, and Russell Wilson was cut after two seasons with the Broncos before joining the Steelers in 2024. With Justin Fields now donning the New York Jets’ green and Aaron Rodgers expected to join the Steelers, the NFL gets a two-for-one revenge game special.
Fields started the Steelers’ first six games in 2024, going 4-2 in that span. Rodgers spent two seasons with the Jets, missing all of 2023 with an Achilles injury and going just 5-12 in 2024. He threw 28 touchdowns last season.
