Making the most of it award

This week’s making the most of it award goes to defensive lineman Dean Lowry, who, despite playing just 12 total snaps, logged one of the biggest moments of the game with a blocked field goal late in the third quarter. That’s a textbook performance to win the award.

Takeaways

  • George Pickens was far and away the Steelers’ most-snapped skill position player, with 79% of the offensive snaps.
  • Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren each played 50% of the offensive snaps. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be… and honestly a recipe for success for the offense as Warren finally looks healthy.
  • MyCole Pruitt is back and Arthur Smith couldn’t be happier. 44% of the offensive snaps.
  • Rookie slot cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr. had an unusually high 82% of defensive snaps. The Steelers decided to ride with the hot hand in the slot — also a symptom of the Jets playing lots of receivers.
  • In a similar vein, the Steelers were clearly scheming for the speed of New York’s playmakers, with Payton Wilson heavily out-snapping Elandon Roberts (55% to 27%).
  • James Pierre played a sizable 62% of defensive snaps in place of an injured Donte Jackson and held his own.
  • The Steelers’ offense to defense ratio this week: 66:55 — a big upgrade over last week’s 62:60.
