Pittsburgh now has two open roster spots.
The Steelers opened up some roster spots on Tuesday, waiving outside linebacker Ade Ogundeji from the 53-man roster and releasing running back La’Mical Perine and cornerback Thomas Graham from the practice squad. The moves were announced by a number of NFL reporters, including ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.

Following the Steelers’ roster moves yesterday, Pittsburgh now has two 53-man roster spots and three practice squad positions open.
It’s likely some, if not all, of the moves will relate to the Steelers getting players on non-roster lists back during the bye. These players could include cornerback Cam Sutton (suspension), linebacker Cole Holcomb (PUP list), and a number of injured reserve members such as offensive tackle Dylan Cook, cornerback Cory Trice Jr., linebacker Tyler Matakevich, and wide receiver Ben Skowronek.
It’s also likely Ogundeji circles back to the practice squad; he was likely waived with the return of Nick Herbig imminent.
The Steelers won’t see the field again for almost two weeks. The team will have a bye for the NFL’s Week 9.
