Another potential Steelers’ target is off the board

The Pittsburgh Steelers made the blockbuster decision to trade for wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, sending a 2025 second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for the two-time Pro Bowler. That said, they would benefit from adding another wide receiver to make their corps more complete, and one name they have been linked to is off the board.

Darius Slayton has agreed to terms on a three-year, $36 million deal to remain with the New York Giants. Slayton is coming off a down year, catching only 39 passes for 573 yards, both of which were his lowest totals since 2021. However, with the awful quarterback play he was subjected to, that’s not necessarily a reflection of his talents, and the Giants seemed to recognize that.

The Steelers were likely to have an interest in Slayton, and with him gone, they will have to turn their attention elsewhere to give them a complete corps of receivers.
