Steel City Underground hand-selected the top highlight plays from the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL playoffs for fans of the Black and Gold!
Entering Saturday night’s Wild Card game of the NFL playoffs, odds were stacked against the Pittsburgh Steelers walking away with a victory over surging the Baltimore Ravens. After punting away every offensive drive in the first half, the situation looked abysmal for the Steelers. After the halftime break, Pittsburgh came to life a bit more, earning their first points on their opening drive of the third quarter.
In what was the longest offensive drive (in yards) by either team, Pittsburgh took a Baltimore punt and drove 98 yards down the field. The drive began at the PIT 2. Quarterback Russell Wilson found Darnell Washington to get the Steelers offense out of the danger zone so close to their own end zone on a short pass, and then hit Calvin Austin in stride for a 25 yard catch and run to move the ball to the 28 yard line.
After taking a sack on 2nd & 5 at the 33, Wilson launched another deep ball, this time to Mike Williams for a 37 yard gain. Things looked stalled after two Wilson passes fell incomplete.
On 3rd & 10 at the BAL 30, Wilson took the snap from shotgun and threw one of his trademark moon balls to Van Jefferson who had gotten a step on his defender. Jefferson secured the 30 yard pass for the touchdown.

Jefferson, who was targeted just 40 times during the 2024 NFL regular season, made the most of his two receptions (on two targets) in the playoff game, finishing with 37 total yards and the score.
The Ravens ultimately won the game, 28-14, ending the Steelers’ postseason run.
